to embellish it, was placed a statue of Christopher Columbus in 1892, to mark the fourth anniversary of the discovery of America.
But come 1965, the statue was badly damaged, and having no artistic value to those responsible, was removed to put in place a globe.
At least it is still worthwhile to visit the spectacular patio.
